What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a convenient way to get content from all your favorite sources delivered to you, instead of you going to search for it. RSS feeds include headlines, summaries and links to stories. These feeds are viewed through an RSS web reader (also known as an RSS aggregator). RSS allows you to quickly review information from all of your favorite sites from one interface.

What is an RSS reader and how do I get one?
RSS news readers are software programs similar to Web browsers that collect RSS feeds and display their information. They allow you to read multiple sources from a single interface.

There are a wide variety of RSS readers available on the Internet. Some readers are Web-based while others require you install a software program on your computer. Some are free to use.

Web-based feed readers and require no software installation and make the user’s “feeds” available on any computer with Web access. A few readers links have been provided here for your convenience. Follow the directions on your reader of choice to install.

How do I subscribe?
After installing an RSS reader, check the installation instructions. In most cases, you can subscribe to a feed by copying in the URL of the page into your reader. The two feeds above link to a web page with code to activate the RSS feed. Click on it, copy the URL location, and paste it as instructed by your reader. Or, if you have installed one of the several readers with quick subscribes above, click on the icon to get started.
