The Leading From Within workshop challenges leaders to explore what their role as a leader means to them. While most workshops focus on the what of leadership, the Leading From Within workshop focuses on who participants are as leaders and on developing their natural strengths for leading others authentically.

Why do we need it?


Leaders are the key to engaging and inspiring talent to reach higher levels of performance. Talented people ask tough questions of their leaders today. They look for authenticity from those they follow. Leaders need to be familiar with and present to their employees their basic inner values, goals and beliefs to answer their employees’ most challenging question: Why should I follow you?

Who is it for?

The Leading From Within workshop is designed for anyone who sets an example for someone else, especially people seeking:
  • Insight regarding their strengths.
  • Clarification about their “essence”—purpose, calling, values and legacy as a leader.
  • Authenticity in their daily leadership.
What is it?

The Leading From Within workshop process helps participants stop, take stock and commit to their leadership strengths. Leaders have the time to explore what their role as a leader means to them and discuss it with other leaders. While most workshops focus on the what of leadership, Leading From Within workshop focuses on who participants are as leaders and on developing their natural strengths for leading others authentically. The program results in a Leader’s Map and practices that guide the leader’s choices and actions everyday.

What are the results?

Leading From Within enables participants to:
  • Discover leadership from the context of courage and integrity.
  • Declare leadership purpose, calling, values and vision.
  • Develop a practice and goals for leading themselves and others to make a difference.
Program Structure

Leading From Within focuses on four areas to develop a participant’s strengths:
  • Leading with Courage. Key issues such as personal purpose, calling, vision, values and working with integrity and courage will be explored.
  • Focusing on Strengths. Participants use tools to develop an inside-out strategy for change and complete a leadership profile to assess their leadership strengths and point-of view in action.
  • The Power of Purpose. Participants discover the importance of purpose-driven leadership, which sets in motion the forces to attract and engage talent.
  • Leadership Mapping. Participants create their Leader’s Map, a tool that visualizes and applies the key outcomes of the workshop to a leader’s daily practices.
Program Components

Leading From Within
is designed for medium-sized groups within organizations. The components include:
  • Leading From Within Workbook—a resource guide assists participants with a step-by-step process to understand and live their leadership essence. It is designed to help participants learn to continue their development during and after the workshop.
  • The Leader’s Map—a system to communicate and track leadership growth throughout the year.
  • Calling Cards—a tool to uncover what inspires participants to lead.
